Retail AI Maturity Assessment
Find out whether your AI agents’ decisions add up to the strategy you intended, and which dimension is holding the others back.
Instant private result. No sales call required
Built from 15+ years of retail and CPG delivery
Works above any agent platform
Six operating dimensions
Immediate, private result
Retailer · Category and Assortment
Systems-rich, decision-memory poor
Biggest opportunity: Category Review Preparation Agent
Limiting condition: merchant reasoning and supplier context are rebuilt manually
30-day move: map one category review, capture the decision logic and baseline preparation time
A companion framework: the AI Maturity Matrix
The matrix maps six autonomy stages against the knowledge foundation they require. It is a separate lens from your assessment result, which uses five overall maturity levels and reads each dimension as Emerging, Developing or Ready. The safe path is the diagonal: autonomy is earned, stage by stage.
About the Retail AI Maturity Assessment
The assessment scores readiness to make better commercial decisions with AI, not how much technology has been bought. Six core questions cover the six operating dimensions; two further questions go deeper on the decision workflow you select. Results are computed on screen: each dimension reads Emerging, Developing or Ready, the overall level combines all six (capped when a foundational dimension is weak), and the recommendation is anchored to your chosen workflow.
What is an AI maturity assessment?
A structured evaluation of whether an organization is ready to get value from AI, read through its decisions rather than its technology. The EIG version asks whether the decisions your AI agents make add up to the strategy you intended: it measures decision memory, shared objectives across functions, the precedence rule that settles a conflict between two objectives, and the authority each agent holds, then places you at a maturity level with the dimension holding the others back.
What is the difference between AI maturity and AI readiness?
They are closely related. Readiness asks "could we start well?"; maturity asks "how far along are we, and what should come next?" For agents the practical difference is this: a business can be ready to deploy an agent inside one function and still be immature, because nothing yet says which objective wins when that agent and its neighbor disagree, or who decides. A good assessment answers both questions and names what has to be in place before the next agent is given more authority.
How long does the EIG AI Maturity Assessment take?
About five minutes. It is a free, self-serve online scorecard: you pick your sector and the decision workflow that matters most, then answer six core questions on how knowledge, merchandising, space, planning, agent governance and value realization work today, plus two on your chosen workflow. Your maturity level, the limiting dimension and a recommended next move appear on screen immediately.
What happens after I get my result?
You get your maturity level, a short read on what it means, the limiting dimension, three bounded agent opportunities in your workflow, a first 30 days and the measures to judge it by, all instantly and with no obligation. The strongest next step is the 45-minute Retail Agent Coordination Review: bring one live workflow and EIG maps the decision and its owner, the enterprise objective, what each function and each agent is optimizing, the missing judgment, the conflicts and the precedence rules that settle them, the authority and escalation boundaries, and the first evaluation set. You leave with a Decision Coordination Map or an Agent Strategy Contract. A Retail Intelligence Discovery Workshop remains available where the result points at one decision inside one function.
