Business requirements consulting for retail and CPG
Define, document and validate business requirements with EIG. Retail and CPG workshops, existing-document reviews and requirements support before RFI/RFP or delivery.
Business Requirements Analysis & Documentation
Define the need. Document the decision. Prepare the next step.
EIG helps retail, CPG and distribution teams turn operating needs into clear, prioritized requirements. We combine business analysis, requirements documentation and stakeholder workshops before expenditure, during a change programme or when an existing document needs independent review.

Start with the work you need
Define requirements
Clarify the business objective, current workflow, operating rules and dependencies. Make differences between stakeholder expectations visible before treating the scope as agreed.
Review existing documentation
Examine requirements for ambiguous wording, contradictions, duplication, missing ownership and acceptance conditions that cannot yet be tested. Record the gaps and the decisions needed to resolve them.
Prepare a handover
Organize the agreed requirements, open questions and validation evidence for an internal delivery team, an existing partner or a separately scoped software-selection process.
From workshop input to usable documentation
Understand the workflow and business objective.
Document the requirements, rules and dependencies.
Challenge assumptions, priorities and acceptance conditions.
Agree the reviewed version and next decisions.
The documentation format is agreed for the engagement. It may be a business requirements document, an editable requirements register or a combination that fits your delivery process. A document title is not a substitute for reviewed content and clear ownership.
What the review produces
- Requirements documentation: a prioritized record of the agreed business and technical needs, with ownership, dependencies and acceptance conditions.
- Evidence and gap record: the supporting information, assumptions, unresolved questions and further validation needed for the in-scope requirements.
- Decision and handover summary: the reviewed position, outstanding decisions and next steps for your accountable decision-makers and receiving team.
We agree the document format, workflows, review sessions and deliverables before work begins. Requirements-only work does not require vendor comparisons or an RFP. If software selection is the next step, a separately agreed continuation can add RFI/RFP preparation, vendor scoring guidance and demonstration scenarios.

PARTNER-LED EXPERTISE
Expertise alongside your team
EIG is partner-built, bringing retail, CPG and distribution domain expertise to business decisions and technology delivery. We work with your business, data and technology owners so that requirements reflect the operation and the decisions they need to support.
You provide the relevant stakeholders, existing documents, operating constraints and appropriately authorized information. Your accountable decision-makers review the requirements and retain responsibility for approval. Unknowns remain explicit; they are not treated as resolved because a document has been produced.
Scope and responsibilities
We bring an independent perspective to the requirements and evaluation process. Relevant vendor relationships or incentives are disclosed and addressed when agreeing the engagement. Your organization retains purchasing authority and the final selection decision.
This is a standalone paid engagement. Scope, deliverables, the mix of on-site and remote work, timing and commercial terms are agreed before the engagement begins. Implementation, software configuration and production data migration are outside this review; any follow-on delivery work requires a separate agreed scope. Legal advice and procurement representation are not included.
Questions before we begin
Can we start without buying new software?
Yes. Requirements work can clarify a process change, support an existing system or help brief an internal delivery team. The scope is the business need, not an assumed purchase.
Can you review a document we already have?
Yes. We can scope a review of existing requirements and record the clarifications, evidence and decisions needed. The extent of revision and stakeholder sessions is agreed in advance.
Do we need a full RFP process?
No. Requirements analysis can be commissioned separately. If supplier selection is needed, we agree whether RFI/RFP preparation and vendor evaluation belong in the engagement.
Bring the decision you need to clarify
Tell us which workflow or project is involved, what documentation exists and what your team needs to decide next. We will discuss the appropriate scope before agreeing a paid engagement.
